@butterfly123, I sure would give that pink pineapple a try ( haven't seen them locally yet)!  I love to research a lot of things.  The other day I looked up the growing time of a pineapple, yeah, I'm wierd that way.  Turns out it takes 16-24 months to grow one pineapple!  Let's think about that.  I've bought them this year at $2.99 and $3.99 each.  That's incredibly inexpensive for a fruit that takes that long to grow and harvest.  It gives me a whole different perspective.  It seems to me there must be a very low profit margin.  It makes me appreciate them all the more, and now knowing what I know,  I would gladly pay upwards of what they cost.

Does anyone know how long a pineapple stays good for?

That is what happens to me also. But I can each canned . I really like the fruit cup pineapple. That works for us .No waste and very convenient. The brand with real fruit juice .

I have eaten fresh pineapple and the best was when I had one in Hawaii 20 years ago- so different than anything else I ever had. I digress...I rarely ever buy them and I mean rarely. Maybe 5 in my lifetime. Just thought they were too hard to handle.

On a whim - bought 1 this season when they were on sale. I cut it open (easier than I remembered) and it was delicious.  I'm going to buy another one in the next few days after I finish my watermelon. That is #3 this season What has happened? Falling under the pineapple spell. On sale 1.99 this week at Stop and Shop

Thanks for the review of this year's crop. I like to cut up fresh fruit and serve it as a side.

I LOVE fresh pineapple, but it makes sores in my mouth when I eat it.  So I don't.

@cherry, my mom can not eat tomatoes, oranges ,for that reason, she gets low acid plants ,yellow tomatoes to grow in summer, my question to you  ,do you have a problem with taking a multi vitamin?
