I drink 100oz of water a day.  When I first started drinking that much, I felt like I was in and out of the restroom all day.  But my body adjusted and that stopped.

As long as I don't drink past 9:00 p.m. I don't get up in the middle of the night for that reason.

All the body needs is 8 glasses which = 64 oz. Remember any other things you drink during the day, like juice, tea, coffee (adds water too).  You can drink too much water too @Lipstickdiva

@gertrudecloset , my doctor advised me to drink 100oz of water a day.  I only drink plain water besides the cup of coffee.  I never drink tea, juices, soda, etc.  Occassionally I drink alcohol.

OK, a Medical Doctor told you to drink 100 ozs?  Hmmm.  I'd wonder why if it were me.  As long as you are ok, that's all that matters @Lipstickdiva

@gertrudecloset I know why she told me that.  Smiley Happy

@Anonymous032819This recommendation is good for healthy people.  Not every individual can drink this amount of water on a daily basis.  Drs. do put their patients on fluid intake restrictions when they have heart and/or kidney issues.

Furthermore, it depends what you eat, and drink during the day too.

For instance a person with advanced congestive heart failure should not and likely would not be drinking the recommended amounts you provided here.

Re: PROBLEM WITH DRINKING A LOT OF WATER

64 fl oz is good for me.  I drink coffee and after a work out I love a cooled coconut water.  That gives me a good range of fluid for the day.  (This does not include what I eat daily though either).

Re: PROBLEM WITH DRINKING A LOT OF WATER

I drink a lot of water too,  100oz a day but I start when I get up st 6am and stop at 7.  4 hours before bedtime.  I usually wake up at 3 to go pee but not multiple times a night.

From the tv show "Adam Ruins Everything" , where he discusses water, hydration and how a lot of what we think we know, came from marketing.

Re: PROBLEM WITH DRINKING A LOT OF WATER

If I drink too much water at once it upsets my stomach. I try and drink smaller amounts throughout the day and it makes it tolerable. I hate drinking only plain water so it’s sometimes unsweetened iced tea with lemon for part of it.
