i have the free version of CCleaner  from its website.

but I am unsure about how to clear cookies.....if that is even what it is called.  @SilleeMee  helped me out a long time ago with this and I found where I had written down the instructions.

My question is how much is "wiped" out if I hit the clear data button, browsing history, and cached images?  Do I hit for ALL TIME?

This doesn't effect my docs or downloads does it?

I feel SOOO stupid!

TIA

@tends2dogs

Not stupid, and the number of cookies we all  accumulate makes me nervous because of all the hacking and viruses.

I can delete them from my computer via my Chrome program, but am wondering .... HOW do we clear cookies from a phone?

@Tinkrbl44, The specific steps depend on what kind of device and which browser, but as one example...

with an iPhone using Safari it's in

Settings--> Safari-->Clear History and Website Data

and then Advanced-->Website Data-->Remove All Website Data.

If you use Chrome on the phone, look in Chrome settings...  no matter what your phone's browser is, just look at that browser's settings to find how to remove this temporary data.😊

People should be clearing cookies, cache, history on a regular basis. It reduces the load on your computer, helps improve speed, and gets rid of anything odd that may be tracking you.

It does not delete your documents, pictures, games, etc.  You might have to sign in again but that's all.

@tends2dogs .............this post should be in electronics, those posters there are very knowledgeable.

What browser do you use?  I use Chrome and you can set your deleting cookies, etc to what you want.  If you clean every so often your computer will run more smooth and faster.
