I have no ideaBUT once a month Mcafree automatically runs a program and clears all my cookies out. I can get a list of the ones that I might want to keep.But once a month I get rid of them all.

@SilleeMee  Okay, I found that page.  Thanks for the help, AGAIN!  DH and my computers are running slow and I think it is time again, LOL.  Everytime I go on the checkout page for a site it goes into this time warp that give me an option to wait or come back.  I am hoping that will resolve.

Maybe I need to clean MY cookies!  Woman Very Happy

Thanks again, Sillee. ~ Woman Wink

Good idea, @icezeus .  I wonder if I could get the Mods to move it.

But that would be another "how to" question. Woman Wink

@tends2dogs

I have never asked for a post to be moved to another forum, but I have seen where it has been done. Perhaps if you post the question in Customer Care requesting that it be moved, they will handle it for  you.

@tends2dogs

If you want to see your DOWNLOADS go to Settings (three dots) and choose Downloads to see what they are. The ones you see there will be the ones which will be cleared and not the DLs in your saved files.

Hi, @tends2dogs!   I'd never laugh at you for asking questions!

Questions and answers are the keys to learning.😊

Please remember that cookies and cache are intended as temporary storage.

Temporary, not permanent.

Clearing cookies and cache does not delete documents, downloads, or the permanently-stored log-in credentials (username and password) we save for long-term use.

It deletes temporary data.

When we visit a website and answer "yes"

to "do you want to save this username and password"

it is saved in the browser and/or the device

(as an example, on a Mac it might be saved in keychain and also in your browser).

Whenever you want, you can go to those permanent log-in data storage sections and actually look up your information, in fact.

You can't do that with old saved cookies.

(There are a few sites with security features that don't permit your browser/device to store the log-in data long-term, but most do.)

Old cookies and cache work nicely to remember and track our activities for a short while,

but over a period of time they become bad data that can cause a myriad of problems.

I clear them all, completely, "for all time," at least once a day on all of my devices.

History is also only for short-term use -- if you want to keep revisiting a site, that's what bookmarks and favorites are for.

Old links in "history" (and also in old bookmarks and favorites, so those need to be recreated occasionally) can become problematic after website updates over time.

Specific directions to clear cookies/cache/website data/history vary from one browser to another

and the steps may change as software changes -- the best thing to do is just search for

"how to clear cookies etc. on [insert browser name or device]"

to get the most current directions.

I hope that helps!

Thanks for being curious and asking questions!

Hope everyone is having a restful day.🌻

@tends2dogs I click on the 3 dots in upper right hand corner.  Now click history.   To far left of my screen I then click on Clear Browsing Data. You should now see "cancel" or "clear data"...click on clear data and erasing will take place.

@dooBdoo @jubilant @SilleeMee @icezeus @jackthebear  and everyone else that took the time to answer.  I folllowed Sillee's instructions and I was surprised how long it took to clear!  I walked away and made lunch.....LOL!  DH's didn't take long at all!

Thanks again to all my friends here.  I knew I would get help, yet again.

Have a happy day to all!

@tends2dogs@icezeus,

 If you want to ask the QVC Social Team to move a thread for you, you can use the "Report Inappropriate" feature on your original post and in the explanation box tell them you're the OP and make your request there.😊

Truly, where does the time go? And although those were difficult times, @tends2dogs, I enjoyed all the exchanges we had along with Katie Ann...think that was her name? Hope she is doing well.

Now, on to EAT me some cookies. LOL!
