but I am unsure about how to clear cookies.....if that is even what it is called.  @SilleeMee  helped me out a long time ago with this and I found where I had written down the instructions.

My question is how much is "wiped" out if I hit the clear data button, browsing history, and cached images?  Do I hit for ALL TIME?

This doesn't effect my docs or downloads does it?

I feel SOOO stupid!

TIA

I clear only my Browsing History all the time even daily, but I dont check off to clear Cookies since yes, that does rid of you of log ins that are saved and things I dont want to be removed. I did it recently on my office computer at work and was sorry I did.

@tends2dogs, can't answer cause I don't exactly know for sure either. I clear them and hope for the best. Ha! But I do know one thing, you're not stupid. You're one of the smartest cookies around here....and the BEST dog mom!

Not an expert, but can say with confidence that no, clearing your cookies or cache will not erase any documents. What it does, is clears little bits of information that was saved when you last visited a website.
Those little bits of data could be things like your user name, a password, your geographic location, or your prior Wordle winning streak - things that help a webpage load more quickly with your personalized information.

I will not laugh and I do not have an answer. However,  I do have a suggestion. Post this question in Electronics, and more people who are technically inclined will be able to view and possibly answer.

Good Luck.

AWWW, thanks pup.  You are no slouch when it comes to being a dog mom and friend.  You helped me BIG time many moons ago.......(6  years, can you believe it YIKES!) ?  Our Willie is 5 years (6 in June).  Time marches on....

Now, on to clear my cookies LOL!

@tends2dogs

This is what the clearing cookies/history window looks like on Chrome. I check the TOP 4 boxes only (not the passwords) and clear data for ALL TIME.

Deleting downloads or docs can be done by doing a DISK CLEANUP where you can choose which files to delete. Be careful with that app.

Good idea, @icezeus .  I wonder if I could get the Mods to move it.

But that would be another "how to" question. Woman Wink

On my iPad I clear everything either under settings/safari or else while in safari up on the upper left.  Shocking how they stalk you!
