Can't go that route! Just not hungry!

make appt w your primary care doc. He/she will assess: how much wt have you lost over what period of time?
when did you first notice loss of appetite?
do you have other symptoms besides lack of appetite? Among other questions about pain, bowel and bladder function etc Doc will likely order a comprehensive lab panel. Keep us posted if you care to share what happens. 🥰

Don't do well with dairy so it is difficult. I use non-dairy nutritional drinks and they help...but not enough!
By mid afternoon, I just don't want to eat...anything!
Help...
This isn't just "not hungry" but could be a serious medical issue.
Serious question --- Why haven't you consulted your PCP? They may need diagnostic tests, or simply refer you to a nutritionist.
Something is wrong here, and shouldn't be assumed to be a minor issue.

@Zhills Yes you can. MJ does not have to be prescribed.

A good friend of mine is genetically thin, her diatition told her to add two tablespoons of peanut butter or almond butter to two of her meals or as snacks, she did this and it worked for her, she adds more if she wants to put on a little more weight, it's not so filling and full of calories.

Maybe see a Nutritionist rather than an MD if you already know medically you have no issues.

@Zhills Can you find a doctor that does functional medicine? I have found a chiropractor who does this and she helped me with some gut issues.
I highly recommend having a stool test done. This will give you a picture of what is going on in your gut. Maybe that is a gut issue that you don't have much of an appetite.

@Zhills What are you eating when you do have something?
I am throwing this out there and I am not sure this applies to you, but it could help if it does.
If a person does not consume enough carbs, their body will go into ketosis. Ketosis will make you not hungry and also helps you lose weight.
Make sure your diet consists of foods high in carbs, like breads and rice and fruit and fruit juices.
Eating just meats, and proteins like eggs with low carb veggies will cause ketosis.
Food high in carbs also trigger your appetite and make you hungry.
I hope you find a solution.
