@Zhills Many of us have suggested you talk to your doctor and no response from you. If you have not, why not? A total lack of desire to eat can be a symptom of a serious medical condition. You are silly not to talk to your doctor.

My loss of appetite is post long "COVID." Thought it would go away but not so, yet. Lost 12-15 lbs and just can't seem to get it back.
I am not normally underweight. 5'4' and usually 140-155. Large boned so not real hefty!
I am not a sweets eater...plus my Dr said,"sugar is cancer food" and who needs that!
I eat a lot of eggs and potatoes and some veggies. I have always loved beef and now it is not appetizing at all!
I usually like any sandwiches but lately they aren't good...the bread is like so soft these days it's like dough!
I know...I've got it bad and that ain't good!
*I have contacted my PCP and have an appt soon. Just thought I would see what the posters here had to suggest! Sometimes, it's very, very good!

I understand your point, but assumptions and self-diagnosis are never a good thing.
Three key basics for human survival .... oxygen, water and food.
If she's not able to consume enough food, she needs professional help.

Okay, Dr. Tinkrbl44 prescribes a small dish of ice cream several times a week.
Since a doctor prescribed this for you, it must be okay. lol ![]()

Doctor never prescribed ice cream! She just says eat...anything!
Oncology Dr. said "Sugar feeds Cancer." Don't want that!

I hope that you get a good diagnostic work-up and help from your PCP. Based on all of the great recipes you have posted in the past, we know you are a good cook! I am glad to see that so many posters recommended that you address your loss of appetite with your PCP in lieu of the all too often "off the wall" advice from untrained medical wannabes. Seeing a nutritionist may be a good idea if your PCP recommends it.

As I stated, to see a Nutritionist once she knows there is nothing else wrong, but once she knows that a Nutritionist may be able to provide better advice than a MD who is not as trained in that area.

speaking as a retired RN. The first step will always be a visit to the PCP. Ancillary and alternative modalities (nutritionist, chiro etc) might be considered later. I believe a lot is riding on our friend's PCP and their diagnostic evaluation, to determine next steps. Outcome may be as simple as dietary measures. She mentioned an oncologist so with a history of cancer, it's even more imperative to start off with her physician. He may be able to make a diagnosis or might send her to her oncologist for followup.
@Zhills we all want the best for you. 😍😀
