Also wondering how @Moonchilde is doing today.
Hope we hear from both.
So, so sorry. Today is Friday the 20th. I HAven,t been on the boards. Wednesday, I went 20 miles north to Windsor to keep my hair appointment. I had canceled the week before.because of SR fire. Devastating, the scenery. The smoke so heavy there. I would have waited another week, but she wanted to get back on schedule. Her salon is on the west Tourist side. While there, a Dr. Came in for his hair cut. He had 10 min. evacuation time. He is living elsewhere, but his home did not burn. He said, they literally drove through fire. Same with my Dr. Who called me.
Yesterday, while getting my car smog ed, a lady who brought a home three months ago in the Mark West Spring area, said the fire jumped the free way and all the homes in her area burned. She had moved three times since with her dog.
I ran errands yesterday between Dentist, car smog, grocery shopping, paying house taxes, getting oil change, and trying to resume a normal life after days of nail biting and sleeping in clothes and phone calls, I slept more than four hours.
Yet, the people that lost homes or are displaced do not have that luxury. A Kaiser nurse I am acquainted with just came back from her vacation in Germany two days before the fire. When it broke out near her area, not one neighbor knocked at her door. A few apologized, but it will not be the same for her.
Our area escaped the horror of Santa Rosa and the beautiful wine country. It,s very gray there. Signs on almost every freeway overpass are thanking the first responders and signs saying Sonoma County strong.
Again, sorry I thought in one of my earlier post, I said I was OK and I thank you for thinking of me and getting me through the worst part. We in the neighborhood have unpacked and for us, life is back to somewhat normal, except knowing people are really hurting and lot of prayers for them and their families.
The gardens and the home of Luther Burbank are still standing and beautiful. If you do come this way next year, please visit, and if a day I am giving the tour, it,s on me.
We are closed now, but will open the first weekend in Dec. For the Christmas Open house. Then we close again until April first 2018.

It's good to hear from you @qvcaddition ![]()
Of course we worried a bit, but I totally understand. You had a lot to do and things to take care of since things have calmed down.
It sounds like you're doing well, getting out and getting a lot of news. I'm glad the Gardens fared well, and we heard Sonoma State resumed classes. Things to appreciate...
