Mystery Package

[ Edited ]

I opened my front door today and saw a package sitting on my welcome mat. It was delivered by the post office and has my full name and address on it. I do not recognize the name on the return address (it came from an apartment) and I don't know anyone living in that city. Should I open it or just return it to the post office? It's a medium size white bag and whatever is inside feels soft.

I would check your accounts with Amazon, Etsy, Ebay....or look at your credit card statement to see if you ordered something that you forgot.  Sounds like it could be masks or a shirt?

@Tink814    You'd better open it.  It could be a gift or something you bought and forgot about (that would be me).  I'd be too curious to ignore it

alicedee: It's definitely not something I ordered and forgot about it, which is why I'm a little concerned.

What results did you get when you Googled the return address?

Is your birthday coming or any special day? Gift?

Maybe put on gloves and open it outside. If that would make you feel safe.

@Tink814   For Pete's sake, open it.  If it's soft, it's not a bomb or a rattlesnake.  What are you afraid of?

If you're certain you haven't ordered anything, I would mark it refused, return to sender and notify the PO to pick it up.

I would open it, out of simple curiosity.

That's what I'd do.
