They only thing I watch on TLC is Say Yes to the Dress, but I may watch this. I read weight loss stories on CNN and it's inspiring. People who could walk down the driveway without losing their breathe are now 100 pounds lighter and keeping it off by liviing a healthier lifestyle. Those people had to start somewhere and I think this woman is going to show that. She's not being cut out of a house. She's working and she working out. Is she at a healthy weight? No, but hopefully she will be one day and I hope she inspires people who think they are too far gone to make changes in their lives.

Metformin is used to treat it, and may result in the woman ovulating. This is a positive if she ever wants to get pregnant. So, even if not diabetic, the drug has had some success in treating PCOS.

Lack of ovulation can result in abnormalities in getting periods, and a higher risk of uterine cancer later on.

My daughter has been diagnosed with it. She also has high cholesterol at 27. She takes birth control pills to regulate her periods.

If I were your friend, I would take her doctor's advice! She should look into this more.

Yes; out of curiosity, I'm sure I will watch at least one episode. Funny though.... If weight really isn't an issue, then one would not make it the focus of a TV program. It's very sad... I personally don't believe one can be sincerely OK with being morbidly obese.

No. I'm not interested in any more reality shows of any ilk, personal issues or otherwise.

Frankly, even though I know it's 'cheap' TV, I wish networks would go back to finding talented writers and actors and create scripted shows that actually are entertaining... and aren't merely entertaining compared to what else is being offered...

Probably not. I'm fat and I have a fabulous life. So, what would be the point???
