There is school in our small city.  My son is now a teacher and is just as disappointed as he was when he was a child.

@SharkE   Thanks for the reminder.  Since I am retired those holidays pass me by.  My planner page has listed for Monday to return package at postoffice, pickup a library book and I would have found both of those places closed.

I looked on our schools page and they have it off and called it Columbus Day.

Just call it both: Columbus Day and Indigenous Persons Day.It's two in one and covers everything.
