I want a national holiday called 'National blonde Day'

There actually is one:

May 31st

May 31st is International Blondes Day. It celebrates the people with blonde hair, which occurs due to low levels of dark pigment resulting in a yellowish color.

Our county government offices are open.  They traded this October holiday for the last Friday in September, otherwise known as "Fair Day" here...our county fair weekend.

I wondered if that was tomorrow because I need to go to the bank.  Oh well.

I'm a teacher and have school on October 9.  I live in Ohio.  I remember when I was growing up schools, post offices, banks, etc. were all closed on what was known as Columbus Day.

Today is kind of a mixed bag here. Public schools are open, Catholic schools are closed. No regular mail delivery. Most banks are closed. Courts are open. Some city halls are closed, some are open. In some cities , they had let the employees decide if they wanted MLK day off instead. So, hence, that is why some cities may be open. The county offices are open. State offices are closed. Libraries in the Ft Lauderdale area are open while Miami ones are closed. Bottom line, call first. 😀

On Indigenous People's Day in my town, schools, library, banks, town offices are closed.  no mail delivery.

I have no problem with the name change.

A more appropriate holiday name than the original one.

Columbus Day in my neck of the woods.

Bond markets closed due to banking system, so I always have the day off ( equity markets open.  One of those odd days in the Financial Markets.)

For years it was Columbus Day, some observed it, some didn't. It used to be a holiday for me, then it wasn't. Since then, he got 'downgraded' and just as many schools got renamed, the holiday became Indigenous Peoples Day, which I can support as long overdue. My bet is that jurisdictions that didn't recognize it as a holiday now do, and it has nothing to do with Columbus falling into disfavor.
