It’s sad that acknowledging what really happened is labeled as cancelling instead what it really is: recognizing the truth of history, not a distorted narrative.

Columbus Day should never have been in the first place. It should be changed. He did not discover America. People were here long before he landed in the Bahamas. Enslavement, genocide, slave trading and other atrocities are his legacy.
I agree, it is a sign of the times I guess that the truth of history is not acknowledged. There should not be statues or monuments to Columbus. What is that saying Ignorance is bliss.
