Years ago, we had a very active poster by the name of Doglover (real name is Jody) who met up with tons of posters from the boards.  Her (now late) husband was in the medical profession and traveled to various conferences and hospitals around the country to give presentations, etc.  I had a fellow poster about an hour away from me  who got to be real good friends with her and her husband (IRL) and I was able to have dinner with her and several other posters a couple of times.  My friend that kept in contact with her has now passed away so I don't get updates on Jody any more.  I believe Jody was having health issues as well and hasn't been active here in several years.  I sure miss her though (and my poster friend).

@shoptilyadropagain Welcome!🥰 How fortunate for her to have been able to travel and meet fellow posters! I would LOVE❤ to have that opportunity now with several!❤ I had an interesting story of having "met"a poster while standing in a LONG line at a market where I lived!😁 We admired each other's items and shared where we had purchased them!😊

We had coffee, and would sometimes see each other in the neighborhood and strike up a conversation, but  we never exchanged personal information, and after some time, I never saw her or her dog out walking again! She was the sweetest person, but in REALLY poor health so I can only imagine... 😐 That is my only experience! There is another poster who shared a similar experience in another thread some time ago, so it got me to thinking of just how many others share similar stories!😁

I have met some really nice ladies on a thread that is no longer is around.  It felt like I knew each of them so well, like we were friends for a long time.  We discussed everything from beauty, candles,  great deals at Costco's and what we were having for dinner. I really do miss those ladies and I hope they are all doing well.

@SandySparkles ,  your posts are delightful, and really help enliven the boards and stimulate conversation on various topics.  So many of us appreciate you taking the time and thought to do so, whether we participate or not.

At times the forum can become rather static, especially during the summer, I think.  So someone like you, who bothers to initiate conversation on a variety of topics, is indispensable.  

And the fact that you are always friendly and kind, brings that civilized tone that lifts us all up.

@SandySparkles  I really like your posts and I think that you come up with a lot of fun and interesting forum post ideas that get a lot of people to participate and have fun. Keep up the great work and post whenever you like, Sandy Sparkles ! A Meet and Greet is a great idea for people! I wish that there could be a QVC fan convention or something- I'd love to meet people from these forums in person .
