I don't understand why MB keeps calling the brand Just Bagels , Begels .   Cliff has on many occassions corrected her politely that its  pronounced with an A not and E.

for those that like her I know it may sound inconsequential, I like Mary Beth too,    just seems she should be aware when presenting items to use the correct pronunciation.

I wasn't watching, so I can't speak to Mary Beth's pronunciation of the word "bagel", but I can tell you that I know many people who don't seem to say the word correctly.

Maybe it's the way they pronounce it in Minnesota?  Have no idea.

@SilleeMee @that pretty much how I say it with a long A and the way "bay" is pronounced, not Beg.

i guess it could just be a regional thing saying it with an  E being from NY it's definitely with an A.

I can't say I've ever noticed anyone mispronouncing the word.  Mary Beth is probably just not putting emphasis on the A.  Making it a soft A, instead of a hard A.

I know what they are, so I'm not worried about how anyone pronounces it.  And Cliff has "corrected" her?  I wouldn't think he'd be so rude, as a longtime vendor with a longtime host.

At any rate, Mary Beth wanted to retire and they talked her into staying until next March, so I don't think she or QVC will be focusing on that now.

@Kitty Galore so the problem will be resolved soon enough.  There aren't that many Just Bagel presentations that Mary Beth will do.

Re: Mary Beth and Just Bagels

That's a common pronunciation in PA as far as I can tell.  It's the same way the Lug founder pronounces "bag".  I also work with people from PA who say bagels the same way.  I may be off on the area being only PA, but it's a regional thing for sure.

@Venezia  - I thought the same thing that why would he be rude to correct her for not pronouncing it Bay-Gull.

I think too that may be regional.

It reminds me of how Gary in Denim and Co says denim.

He says "dinim." I always want to practice with him to say denim lol!

They use a short e instead of a long a in Phila and Minnesota too. Mary Beth was born in Minnesota.
