The Meal Train has been around for years. All of my daughters were lucky enough to have meals delivered for a week or two after they had my grandbabies and I also got meals delivered after I came home from a long hospital stay. Most of their friends have kids and work full-time, so they don't have lots of time to cook meals for others. so

some of the meals were delivered by a restaurant, some were made by friends, and some were gift cards or vouchers for meals from specific restaurants that friends knew were favorites. I think it is a great idea. We really appreciated having the meals delivered and we knew what was coming and when. Nice to have it organized so you don't get lasgana or a meatloaf threa days in a row.

I've been the grateful recipient of meal trains several times. In 2013 when my son was killed, my office took care of meals for two weeks. In the past five years I had some major surgeries and was provided meals by my church community group. Never occurred to me to decline for any reason. These provisions were blessings. The friends who made the meals or ordered food for us were happy to have a service opportunity. That's how I feel too, when I deliver food to someone.

What a wonderful & helpful thing to do!!  I love how a community will come together to help those in need.
