@JeanLouiseFinch  If it's possible and not already included, suggesting donations for paper products would aleviate dirty dishes piling up.

@ThinkingOutLoud - that's a good idea, but the way the site is set up, it's only for monetary contributions, gift cards for food, and volunteers to pick a date to bring a meal.  I'm not involved in any way other than my commitment and it woukd not be my place to tell the organizer(s) how to run things.  Maybe close friends are already thinking of those things. 🤷‍♀️

How awful for the couple and I am glad they are on the mend.

I think any help given to them at this time would be wonderful and greatly appreciated.

Yes, I've heard of this for severall years now and it is a wonderful and thoughtful thing that can be done for others who aren't in a position to cook their own meals.  When you sign up for a particular day, it can be Pizza delivered or you can bring food from any restaurant as well.  I believe you can even donate food gift cards and money on the site.

What a great program. But I have to agree with eating a strangers meal. No offense at all, but I wouldn't want to eat them either. Just not sure of everyones hygiene practices or food quality. I think donating the cash or offers of grocery delivery, even picking up groceries is a much better way to help.Let their close friends/ family do the cooking.

Not everyone has close friends or family nearby to assist. This is a wonderful way to help.

Exactly. Those people would be recovering in nursing homes until they were able to do for themselves at home.

Thank goodness for communities helping those who are injured, sick or vulnerable.

Post of the day, IMO. So very true. When you're hungry and can't get to food, pride goes out the window.

Do you ever eat in restaurants?  You'd prob be shocked at some of their hygiene practices as well.

My mom always taught me to be gracious and appreciate gifts given

So did mine.

Her words of wisdom and sage advice have made me who I am today and I could never thank her enough.
