That's the point, it's not solved. They follow people, sometimes with loud insults and they grab people.
They are also intimidating, ex military.

Exactly. That doesn't solve the problem. You know they're there and if their behavior inhibits some people's willingness to shop the mall or diminishes the shopping experience for them then the problem remains. You can avoid them but they're still there and you know that sooner or later you're going to have to dodge them. That shouldn't be part of what is supposed to be a pleasant shopping excursion.

Some posters have clearly never seen this and are sure that those who have are exaggerating. But that would mean that the hundreds of complaints to govt and LE agencies in other countries are all bogus, as well as those reported to mall security and LE in the US. Not very likely. But with some, if they haven't seen it, done it or experienced it, it can't possibly be.

I've never had one follow me or bother me in the least. Sometimes (rarely) they may step forward or try to catch my eye, but I just look away or say, "Sorry, not interested" as I keep walking.
It's distressing to hear that some posters here have had to deal with aggressive behavior. For sure, I would complain to mall management.

No exaggeration involved... I was blown away... They were like they were wild... They'll follow you across the aisle to try to get you to pay attention to them... Truly an obnoxious experience...
I did, indeed, blow them off and just keep going, but the friend I was with had a hard time doing it and was literally harangued and harassed... No one should have to put up with that...

I'd call the mall offices and tell them I won't shop there any longer because of this behavior!

Totally agree. They should be reported to management, and to the police dept if they keep it up. They can be scary in the creepy sense. And knowing so many are ex-military makes it creepier.
But what is creepiest of all is Westfield being completely aware of all this and continuing to welcome them.
