Two years ago, I bought a mountain dulcimer. I waiting 6 months while the dulcimer was being built. Love the music. This was a major purchase that I've enjoyed each day. Just keeps on giving.

I sometimes, but not always, buy myself Christmas and/or birthday gifts. Can't recall if I bought either last year so I probably didn't. Gifts for myself have to be special, and never anything I need and/or planned to get anyway.
I've bought myself a good purse a few times as a birthday gift or for a special celebration gift.

No I never bought myself a gift for my birthday, Christmas, or any other holiday. I only buy for others for holidays and birthdays. But I dont have to my husband buys nice things and knows what I like, and at Christmas my kids, grandkids and DH and I write lists of ideas of what we want soo. Heck I felt bad I ordered the TSV boots the other day (which I got and love), because Im trying to Christmas shop. Another words I worry about others not myself. And I dont work anymore, only my husband works.

I don't get much chance to shop at "real" store, but when I see something I like on line, I'll ask DH to get it. My most recent purchase was a pair of black slim leather pants. Wore them a couple of times on a recent trip north.

well on my last cruise I bought a beautiful canary diamond ring encircled with white diamonds, a choker diamond on a nice chain and I bought a pair of Yurman earrings and a bracelet.
I justified it by saying "hmmmmm this should cover at least all the special occasions for the next few years!" But, I've already got my eye on a Citizen watch which I plan to buy this trip🙀😉😁😁😁
l like to treat me because nobody else will when it's a big expenditure! My GD will have nice jewelry when she gets older but my niece has already called dibs on yurman pieces!

It was an out of print book - non-fiction - written in French. I've been looking for a copy for about 20 years after seeing a copy at the genealogy library. I wanted my own copy - some of my ancestors' names are in the book.
About once a month ... I google the title and author hoping to get a hit.
A couple of weeks ago, I was prowling around online and I found a copy at an antiquarian bookshop in The Netherlands. So excited to find it. It was quite expensive, in rather delicate condition ... and it's now mine!

I recently bought myself a diamond and emerald art deco ring off of the Gem Shopping Network from the estate section. It was so nice of me to do that for myself! Seriously though I love gem shopping network and I have gotten some beautiful pieces from them. I especially love the estate section.
Today I picked up several things from the Q's silver sale. I haven't bought from them in a while. I used to love the sterling silver days. I got the textured woven bracelet. It is 52 grams of silver for $160, thought that was a good deal. Then I got the diamonique lever back earrings and the sleeping beauty turquoise inside out hoops. This is the most I have gotten for about 5 yrs from the Q.

I'm not talking about you see something you like, on sale, and purchase it. Do you buy yourself gifts for special occasions?
If so .... what was the occasion ... and what was the gift?
@Tinkrbl44 funny you should ask. I have a big birthday coming up this weekend, so I decided to treat myself to a bottle of Joy perfume. I ordered it today so I'm hoping I'll get it soon. If not, I bought myself a belated birthday gift.
I'm very good to myself when there's something I want. If someone doesn't buy it for me, I just buy it myself. Thankfully, I'm at that stage of our lives when I can treat myself.
There's more coming where that one came from. I'm feeling very generous this year

I don't need an excuse to buy myself something, I buy what I want, when I want.Life is too short.
