I have had my Keurig for over two years and always use distilled water. Mine runs like the day I got it. That is the key to having longevity with these machines, seems to me. Smiley Happy

When ours died we replaced with Cuisinart (uses Keurig pods). With BBB coupon near the same price as Keurig. So far so good.......

I just called them, and she talked me through cleaning the needle with a paper clip. After that it was working, but we got disconnected. I'm not sure what she would have told me next. I think I need to call back again though, because a lot of water seems to be coming out the bottom. :::sigh:::

I had to call and do the cleaning with a paper clip too. That was after mine was over 2 years old, I think. I have the personal/mini Keurig. I had to do the paper clip thing again recently. I know the person told me to be sure and get the paper clip way up in there and there are 3 holes to clean. That was for the mini. Been working fine ever since. I did buy another one on sale at Kohl's to have a back-up just in case. It came to just a little over $50. with all the discounts I had and free shipping. It is still in the box though. Love the Keurig.

I just use plain tap water in mine, and here in Louisville, we have hard water. Also, despite having them for a while ,I have only descale each one twice.

Mine died after a year of course, but I had trouble with it constantly. I finally tossed it and went back to Mr Coffee. I've had it since October, not a single problem. I will never own another Keurig.

Keurig's customer service is the best. Call them, and they generally replace the brewer immediately....within 2 or 3 days, we received ours. Keurig wants to keep their customers really happy, because they make their money on the K-cups. If your brewer isn't working, you aren't buying K-cups. I've known them to replace them, even after the warranty has expired.

I haven't joined the 'Keurig world' just yet for this reason. But my work has a Keurig type coffee machine and my drip coffee at home doesn't taste quite the same now!! I'll probably go for a Keurig Personal model at Kohls when I get the next 30% off coupon. Since they're so good with returns I'll exchange it for a new model every year if I have to!

Someday...maybe...we'll start making QUALITY American-made products again.

Until then, we have to deal with cheap Chinese-made krap.

I would gladly pay more for products made here.

Sorry about your Keurig.

I know my response doesn't help you now, but it might in the future.

We bought our Keurig at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. When it died, I called the store because it was out of warranty. They said no problem, just bring it in and pick out a new one. I didn't have the receipt. They just pulled me up in the computer based on my phone number, and said go pick out a new one. They said this was true of anything purchased at any BB&B. Just take it back anytime - no limit - and get a replacement or a store credit for current value.

I had no idea, but was pleased. I remember as I walked out with the new Keurig, they said "you'll be back when that one dies - they all do".
