I must say that this heavy push for "follow me on JustJill" feels a bit much. I notice on her Facebook page that she's now responding to almost every post encouraging people to tell their friends to follow her. Clearly a business is being built and she's wanting to bring a fan base with her. That's great--I don't begrudge her that. But it's almost as if Jill has suddently changed from her more reserved, rarely replying to a FB post self to a "I want to be your best friend" person. It feels artifical to me. I would have been more inclined to follow her next venture if she didn't seem so desperate to drag customers along with her.
I have enjoyed some of her shows and ideas. I don't think I'd buy from her just because it's Jill's website or product line..although I am sure some folks will. Perhaps she will have the same fan following that Lisa Robertson did. In which case I expect her new "line" will be a success. But I find the change in personality--where now she suddenly opens up with photos of spouse and kids and personal life simply to set the stage for making money to be off-putting.
And now I'll sit back and allow the attacks to begin since I said something not totally supportive of Jill....
Jill was my favorite host and I will miss her. But I TOTALLY agree with you.

Hi Jill: Heard you have decided to leave. I hope your next stop will be happy and a healthy one. I will miss seeing you as you made my day when I had nothing else to do. Ms. Jill may the P in Peace forever, be with you and your family. It was wonderful to have known a person like you!

However, it seems she's on frequently now.
IMO, children need mom most when they are little. I have 3 and I was fortunate to be able to be at home with them from birth through high school. When it's a situation where the mother is the only or main bread winner, there is not much choice. I assume both Jill's and Mary Beth's husbands earn a decent income and both women could have stayed with their young children.
The idea that Jill is leaving to pursue a different career makes more sense than the reason announced.
She didn't actually say she's leaving QVC just to stay home with her family. (She also didn't use the word "retiring.") She said that after experiencing several milestones in her life over the past year, she had decided to "take a leap of faith" and pursue some other things so that she doesn't look back some day with regret. She also said that she's looking forward to just relaxing a bit and spending time with her family, going to ballgames, going to the beach, etc. -- something many people do when they have the luxury of a taking a break between an old job and starting something new. She clearly has something else in mind (thus her reference to "go chase some things"), and in the meantime, she's working to maintain her connections and her social media presence.

@this is my nic . You are wrong about Mary Beth. Her husband was the one who chose to be a stay at home Dad and raise the children.
You have no way of knowing the incomes of either of these families.

Holy macaroni! Leave the poor woman alone. She's too reserved. She's too artificial. She left on her own. QVC let her go. She's staying home. She's starting a new business. I for one admire any of today's women who can pursue whatever it is they want to do. If Jill wants to stay home and count the dandelions on her front lawn, so be it. If she's got a business idea and wants to test the waters, good for her. Whatever path she lands on, I hope she's happy, healthy and successful! You go, Jill.

Jill was my favorite host however even I thought the constant plugging on air of her new social media pages was too much.
I had noticed a change in Jill's demeanor at least a year ago. She seemed more open, warm and friendly. At that time I wondered if there was something at Q that had changed and she needed to up her sales game. Jill was never a social media person and even commented on air that QVC was requiring them to participate and she didn't seem happy. Her participation was minimal at best and rarely anything personal about her kids or husband were shared. Then that changed as well. Once Jill announced she was leaving, she really changed. She seemed much happier and more relaxed.
When another host left QVC a few years back, there were all the typical "this isn't the end, we'll keep in touch, I'll see you soon" comments followed by the parties that were thrown by the hosts and the lunches, dinners and coffees with former hosts and vendors. And as time goes on, those social engagements start to dwindle and more time goes by between them until they are no more.
Sharon asked people to follow her on social media, then on her FB page asked for questions about being a QVC host and then she's not been heard from again. I do hope everything is okay with Sharon and her family. It was odd to say the least that she would all of a sudden just drop off social media.
No matter what Jill has said, there are still those who heard what they heard and only acknowledge part of what she said. The topic has been beaten to death on multiple threads. Only time will tell if she remains active on social media and what her future holds.

I wonder if Jill will still have some connection to QVC, they let her plug her Facebook and Instagram accounts and gave her a very nice send off? I would have liked to have seen her husband Doug and her children live in the studio. Maybe it was too late for them or maybe they like their privacy ( I did see the video of the kids). I will follow Jill and wish her well.

"Out of sight, out of mind" is one the oldest and (IMHO) truest sayings there is. As soon as someone leaves the limelight or their job, they're basically forgotten. How many of us remained "such good friends" with the people we worked with once we or they left? It's rare, that's for sure.
I believe that any host who leaves a show (be it TV or radio) is basically forgotten soon thereafter as new people come in and the audience lives their own lives. It's simply how it is. YouTube is no different; hence the reason some put up videos daily or 3 days a week plus constant instagrams....they need to stay in your face/on your radar/relevant. If they don't, you forget about them. No one is special anymore; if they ever were.
