I think she seems happy.  From my own experience, once I've made a big decision, it feels like a weight has been lifted.  And retiring early from a job where you're successful would be a huge decision.  It may be that she just feels very lighthearted and excited about whatever she's doing next.

Jill is no Martha Stewart....or some great interesting person that I see having her own show or whatever her future employment goals aspire to become. She is just not THAT charismatic.

She is pleasant in her own way.

I always found her prepared and pleasant, but never overly enthusiastic.

I like Jill as a host and agree with many that the newer hosts have much seasoning to do ..which is to be expected for someone new to a job.

I must say that this heavy push for "follow me on JustJill" feels a bit much.  I notice on her Facebook page that she's now responding to almost every post encouraging people to tell their friends to follow her.  Clearly a business is being built and she's wanting to bring a fan base with her.  That's great--I don't begrudge her that. But it's almost as if Jill has suddently changed from her more reserved, rarely replying to a FB post self to a "I want to be your best friend" person.    It feels artifical to me.  I would have been more inclined to follow her next venture if she didn't seem so desperate to drag customers along with her.

I have enjoyed some of her shows and ideas.  I don't think I'd buy from her just because it's Jill's website or product line..although I am sure some folks will.  Perhaps she will have the same fan following that Lisa Robertson did.  In which case I expect her new "line" will be a success.  But I find the change in personality--where now she suddenly opens up with photos of spouse and kids and personal life simply to set the stage for making money to be off-putting.

And now I'll sit back and allow the attacks to begin since I said something not totally supportive of Jill....

No criticism from me.  I agree with you.  Thank you for posting it.

She double talked in her Facebook farewell and people tried to tell me I was wrong.

No one that is leaving to spend more time with their family needs new social media.  If anything, they would want to step away from it - at least for a while.

Jill is running towards it at full speed, trying to maintain momentum.

People think whatever they need to think in order to make their thoughts and reality mesh.

I don't.  I just listen to what people say and do.

I think it's just her way of staying connected.  She mentioned that some had asked her how they could follow her, thus the new site.

And, if she does branch out to some other venture, good for her!!!  Why not????

SeaMaiden......I almost choked on my coffee.  No offense to you but, you think Martha Stewart has charisma?  To me she  seems like an aloof ice princess, was never impressed by her demeanor. I do admire her culinary ability but not her personality. Also don’t watch much because can’t handle the way hosts fawn over her. Jill seems approachable, Martha does not at all.

Stay connected?

With a total stranger?

I think you missed the point.  She SAID she was leaving for time with her family.

Her ACTIONS show something different.

All I am saying is just be honest and stop the you know what.

Her "Just Jill" name reminds me of the name of the clothing store, J Jill.

I never paid any attention to her FB page, so I can't speak about any changes.  However, I do think it's odd that she's trying to build a following since she's supposedly chosen to leave Q to focus on the family.

I wish her well as she starts this new journey.

None of the hosts that left the Q for whatever reason made a better living for themselves or became more famous,to my knowledge. If Kathy Levine couldn't do it, none of them can do it.
