Yea, I could see this as a made for TV movie with some second or third tier actress, but as a serious production, sorry but no. She's done well for herself and by her children, but her 'story' simply doesn't strike me as remarkable or interesting enough to warrant a major production.

Biographical movies are a tough sell to the public. The person really has to be an outstanding personality or done something pretty fantastic.

While she did well for herself and family, I cannot imagine droves of people would be rushing to the theater to see the life story of the spin mob and huggable hanger lady.

I'm not a Joy fan but I think it's cool that a movie will be made to show how one woman's idea put her on the road to success.
