Re: Joy Miracle Clean- hazardous?

A lot of big over reactions.  You would think that the stuff is radioactive or something.

Thymol is a naturally occuriring chemical compound.

To call it hazardous is absurd.  What do people think about using chlorine bleach, ammonia and other similar products?  I used it Saturday and it works perfectly fine; there is a trace of the "listerine" scent, but it doesn't bother me.

I do advise consumers against drinking it, if that is what they mean by hazardous.

A lot of drama about everything these days. Thank you to the poster that warned me about cleaners in ceramic tiled showers. I didn’t know.

Re: Joy Miracle Clean- hazardous?

It isn't much ado about nothing.  If the stench of this product bothers the majority of people it should have been marketed honestly.  Just add in small print that some people may be sensitive to the scent.  Instead it was touted over and over about the clean fresh scent of Linen and Orange Blossom, etc.  This stuff STINKS and the stench lasts forever.  It's causing physical reactions for many, many people.  So glad I don't have anyone in my home with asthma.  Can't imagine.

Re: Joy Miracle Clean- hazardous?

If you recall the TV presentation of this product, Joy and the show host were spraying this product repeatedly during the course of the show.

If the odor and fumes (yes, fumes) were anything as strong as I experienced from the limited use  on my kitchen sink, the hosts and camera staff should have wanted to exit the building.

I suspect the batch I received must have been altered somehow in manufacturing or during warehouse/delivery truck  shipment in hot summer weather.  It is definitely too powerful to use extensively in my house and certainly not for spraying on fabrics or elsewhere as demonstrated by Joy.

I sent mine back immediately, after being assured I would receive a full refund including shipping.

No drama queen here, and I resent the inference that anyone who coughed and choked after use of this product in a very limited area is somehow crazy.

I doubt the claims by a few folks that they "cleaned their entire house from top to bottom" in one day with this product and love it.

In fact, I doubt any claim that someone has cleaned their entire house with ANYTHING in one day--LOL!!

Talked to CS at HSN a little while ago.  They are doing the right thing by allowing us to return without a charge.  CS said they had a great many complaints.

I also ordered the orange blossom. The scent is strong and not the most pleasant but certainly not the worst. I just haven't found that the cleaner cleans any better than anything else I am using. I will keep it and not reorder.

Re: Joy Miracle Clean- hazardous?

I did not ordere because I've been burned enough by Joy's products.  I have used Method cleaning products in the past and I may be wrong but I don't think they disinfect.  At least what I bought didn't.  It just cleaned.

Joy kept talking about how different her products were because her's cleand AND disinfect, unlike any other natural product on the market.  If Seventh Generation also has products that disinfect as well as clean, that was an untrue statement Joy made.  I've only used Seventh Generation dishwasher detergent and was not impressed at all.  IMO it didn't do a good job.  I also didn't care for the Method cleaner I bought.

I think there are either a lot of hyper sensitive people out there are a lot of over exaggeration going on.

Re: Joy Miracle Clean- hazardous?

I don't mind the smell that much but my daughter is smell sensitive and thought it smelled like poison. I had to clean the windows at night while she was in bed so the smell would be gone in the morning. Why is it my dog will not go under the sofa after I sprayed the carpet under the sofa.? He hasn't gone under there since and I sprayed 4 days ago. No one told him I used Joys Miracle Spray. He is just avoiding because he finds it offensive. I bought the spray to disinfect and now I can't even spray his bed. Has anyone used the spray on their dogs toys and beds and they are okay with it? How are your dogs responding to the spray? Would love to know if my dog is just smell sensitive!

Re: Joy Miracle Clean- hazardous?

I use the 7th generation line of disinfectants everyday on everything.  It smells like the thyme extract that is the same used by Joy's Miracle clean.  Same exact thing.  I have no issues at all with it.

I like that I can spray it directly on my cutting boards and not rinse off... no fear of ingesting anything. Perfectly safe and kills germs.   wipe off my remotes and phone too..... Best thing on the market and much cheaper than Joys stuff.
