Kalli, I agree. I love tanzanite, madeira citrine, apatite, smoky quartz, and pearls.

mgm2, I don't have anything with apatite but I love that vibrant color! I'd love to have a tanzanite, too. Several years ago on shop n b c there was a couple whose name was Ramsey. They had tanzanite pieces that were gorgeous but I didn't want to spend the money back then and now I wish I had.

Right now my favorite ring is my ceylon sapphire. To me, it's the prettiest shade of blue. Not biased, am I? haha

A Ceylon sapphire is one of the best stones IMO. You get the hardness of a sapphire without the brittleness of an emerald, and the color is sheer perfection. Oh, the Ceylon sapphire I passed up 20 years ago. Kick.

There's always that one that got away.

For me it was a natural yellow-green diamond ring that I saw about 10 or 12 years ago. It was on sale and at the time I thought nah, I can always buy another one. I had no idea how rare it was. I still think about it occasionally {#emotions_dlg.laugh} {#emotions_dlg.unsure}

My dad and I were just discussing our failure to buy a great pair of diamond studs for myself and my mother back in the 1980s.

Heck, I'm kicking myself for not keeping one Tiffany pendant I returned as the price has doubled, and another one was in platinum for what now seems like a very reasonable $550. Diamonds, amethyst and emerald...and before it was discontinued, it had almost tripled in price. Kick. Kick. Kick. LOL

That's what I was thinking when I returned a natural yellow diamond pendant to Gems TV. They used to have some really insane prices, and I was okay with missing out on a few AAA tanzanite pendants, but I should have kept that yellow diamond. At the time they had the odd pink and/or yellow diamond shows, all natural stones from Australia, and then they went out of business. EEEEEEK!

Here's another missed one. Many years ago I was looking at a rather large purplish stone at a rather boring jewelry booth at a show, and I was informed it was tanzanite. Never heard of that one. It was somewhere around 8 carats, AAA quality at least, and it was $700 in yellow gold. Even my dad feels the pain of that one, and he didn't even see the ring. LOL
