Are you in the airline industry? And where are you getting your info?

Can't possibly be. The term "stewardess" disappeared in the 1970's. It's been "flight attendant" or "cabin crew" for many, many years.

Re: It is safe to fly

[ Edited ]

First, let me say I hope each and everyone of you who choose to fly, are doing so bc it is an ABSOLUTE necessity. I understand that completely. But, I'm reading that some are concerned about their safety on the airplane; social distancing, recirculated air, etc. Whoever wrote that it is probably one of the safest times to fly is correct bc, thankfully, a good many people are following the advise of the experts and staying home, unless it is dire.

Now, let me tell you my concerns and why this is a hot-button issue with me. I worry each and every day my husband and son walk out the door to go work. Why? Bc they are the airline pilots flying the "desperate to get to an emergency situation," which is the very reason there are any flights at all(!) AND those who think it is ridiculous to self quarantine and refuse to do so. You are the ones my fears are based on. Upon arrival at the airport my husband dons his mask, and is not permitted to board the aircraft without his temperature being taken. He takes it upon himself to rewipe down the controls even though great care is taken by the airline already. He does not leave the cockpit unless absolutely necessary. Our son, same procedures. Are you as considerate with his well-being as he is with his passengers' and flight crew? (FYI, we absolutely self-quarantine at home, wear gloves to pick up mail and packages before disinfecting them, and FaceTime in order to stay in touch with our loved ones. No exceptions.) After their flights, my guys get to their hotel rooms and start the whole wiping down routine again, even more so there! But unlike some who, to use a kinder phrase, "throw caution to the wind" or are too selfish to understand the importance of self-quarantine, my husband and son, ARE doing their part for everyone's sake. You have no idea if you are a carrier or not. None. Just bc you feel fine doesn't mean one thing. That's what makes this a pandemic. One more thing. I just asked my husband about flying into any Covid-19 hotspot NOT bc of a serious situation. His response was one word........SERIOUSLY???

I have flight 5/6 returning 5/18 into NJ.  I seriously doubt I'll go but I'm waiting to the last minute to cancel because if airline cancels I'll get a refund.

My family member flew into Philadelphia (she had rental here) and her lease was up 4/20.  She said everything was fine - attendants all wore gloves & masks, few people on flights, no drink service & she got there safely.

Now she will do 14 days quarantine.

Ifeelwickedd  Though I don't have a valid reason to fly and I am safely at home, I sincerely appreciate your husband's and your son's sacrifice. I  know first hand the anxiety you have with them going to work each day.

My husband and son are both in law enforcement and they have personal contact everyday with the public.  I worry, a lot.

I pray that all of the workers who risk their health everyday, stay safe.  They are special people and we all own them a lot of gratitude.

I sincerely appreciate your kind and well thought out words. This is such an unusual and unsettling time for us all, and you, with a husband and son in law enforcement. I cannot begin to imagine. God bless you all. And I, too, pray for all the selfless individuals doing all they can to keep us safe and alive, as they put their own lives in jeopardy everyday. At the risk of sounding redundant, they truly are super heros. Please stay safe, thank you again, and Godspeed.🙏🏻

I got my information from a flight attendant who has been working for years.  If I can find her personal account I will post how to find it.  @Ifeelwicked @FrostyBabe1

Airplanes and cruise ships have to be THE TWO WORST places to be now as far as risk for getting covid19.

Wear a mask. Social distance. Be part of the solution - not part of the problem.
