I think Jennifer and her daughter went two years ago, or at least a host and her daughter went (I don't even know some of these hosts any more), because I asked the host on FB how easy it was to drive. The pictures were beautiful and the driving is apparently very easy with one main road.
I am planning a trip to Iceland, possibly next fall, because I want to get an opportunity to see the Northern Lights--on my bucket list. WOW will be flying out of Philly in late May and they have great rates.

I think Sandra Bennett said her family is going to Iceland, too.
Any long flying destinations are off of our list. My DH HATES to fly and everytime we do, the flights are all messed up. Makes the next trip very far off.
We've always wanted to go to New Zealand and Australia, but that's not going to happen.

Iceland Air offers a nice stop over tourist program. If you are flying to Europe the plane stops in Iceland. You can deplane a spend a few days seeing this interesting country and then jump back on the plane and continue your journey. The airfare was pretty reasonable too. Almost did it on my way to Sweden but I was on a tight schedule and could not find the extra time. Too bad!

Iceland is one of the "in" spots right now. However if you're going primarily to see the Northern Lights there are better places. Iceland has heavy cloud cover a lot of the year which can make the lights iffy. Northern Norway is the best place for seeing the lights.

It is a totally beautiful and amazing place. Its interesting, i have heard a lot of talk of this too. And $99 one way, how could anyone resist. Just one look at the aurora borealis is all it could take to resettle. If one thinks of it, it makes total sense. Its ok if we sometimes have to speak in code. ![]()

For some reason Iceland is really popular now. I'd love to go and was seriously considering it for my next vacation. Haven't been on one since 2007.

I'd rather visit Cuba

I'd love to go to Norway, they have an amazing view of the Northern Lights, and so many incredible waterfalls! It's an amazing place. I've had a good friend from there who would tell me stories of her homeland. Incredible history.

Desert Di,
we had a friend who was in the navy and stationed over there (this was many years ago), she couldn't handle living over there. Never really got into what happened but she said being stationed over there was a real eye opener.

I would love to go to Iceland. I like places that are cool weather-wise. You can have the tropics.
