Thanks to whomever suggested facebook purity

Wow, what a great extension!  I was able to correct many of the things I disliked on my news feed, for instance, videos automatically playing.  I have them set to play ONLY if I click on them.

Also, certain words and phrases I never wish to see.

Again, thank you, thank you, thank you.

FB has decided what they want you to know.

I don't see it that way at all @Snowpuppy, I choose to see who and what I want on facebook.

What I didn't like was news stories automatically defaulting to video.  I now have the option of 'clicking on' the video if I so choose.

Oh, my goodness, @MyGirlsMom. I thought this was about Purity the cleanser. Je suis an idiot. :-)

I'm glad FB is more pleasant for you now. I dunno, but I just go there so rarely. I do know what you mean, though, about the video default thing. There is a man whom I might want to read about for some sick reason but cannot and will not look at him or listen to him. So that would work out very well for me.

I really don't think that the OP was referencing any wacky conspiracy theory, just happy to have figured out how to see what she wants to see with unwanted intrusions.

You can set that in your FB settings without any extra software. My videos only play when I click on them.

..and if I don't want to read anything about ..let's say, pink bunny slippers, I can block that phrase.  Lovely.

first thing I  did was block the "people you may know"
