Re: How Much Time Could You Spend...........

In the past, I could often spend an hour or more in a single store, leave and go to other stores, then come back and look at things again. I'm not an impulse shopper.  I like to carefully consider my purchases.

I often go home (often with photos I've taken on my phone) and go back the next day, once I'm sure I want to buy something.

I think returns would be cut down so much,if others did the same?   I've never returned anything I've bought in person

Re: How Much Time Could You Spend...........

Great question.  Before aches and knee replacement I could spend all day shopping,in fact I did when my children were young and then for my grandchildren.  Now our tastes differ so I no longer visit the children's department.  Still enjoy shopping just seems I have less to shop for.

The way many men shop is not the best way!   My husband would often grab whatever was convenient...might not have been his pant or sleeve length!

might have been something he already had at home.

He did the same when shopping for me.  Bought the same pair of pearl earrings many times!

@CrazyKittyLvr2    I like to shop...even if it is just looking around, then having lunch with a friend.

When I was younger my dad would take me and my friend to the city where he worked...drop us off and pick us up at the end of the day...we had a ball! and I would love to go to the fabric store with your daughter...I love fabric.

She who dies with the most fabric wins!

Re: How Much Time Could You Spend...........

No all day shopping events for me! I can be in and out of the grocery store (including a little bit of browsing) in 35 to 45 minutes. Shopping at a clothing store like Kohl's or Macy's - I'm bored after an hour and ready to go home. When I was younger I could last a couple of hours - after that I'm gone!

I'm with @CrazyKittyLvr2 - I don't do "shlepping in a store for hours"....! Never!

@Annabellethecat66   So knees that are new, or whenever you had it done, didn't help the back?  I wondered about that.  That's the sort of thing that makes me also not able to stand or walk for long on those hard floors.  We need bouncy floors.  LOL

@jannabelle1    Lol---I'm pretty sure that people that enjoy all day shopping have never seen it as "schlepping". I don't enjoy knitting or crocheting but I can understand that others might and do.

Re: How Much Time Could You Spend...........

@Spurt  You are much nicer than I am.  My sister, when she was physically able, was a browser.

I went "home" one weekend years ago and went shopping.  We were in the clothing and she was looking at tops.  After a few minutes of watching her stand there I went to 2 other departments got what I needed and went back and she was still in the same spot.

It went like this:

Me: Oh my God, what are you doing?  Are your feet glued to the floor, you haven't moved. It's been 30 minutes.

Her: I'm looking.

Me: Well, I got what I came for, I'm going to the car.

Good thing I had a book in the car, it was another hour. She came out empty handed to boot.

After that if we went shopping, I drove myself and met her there.

No, I'm usually in and out...even when I'm just browsing, I'm never in a store for more than 1 hour....I have a brother, however, who loves to shop and could spend hours at the mall...needless to say we never shop together😜 but I'm pretty much like that with everything, nothing holds my attention that long.

@CrazyKittyLvr2

That clothing trip sounds like what I go through....

Sisters....what are we gonna with 'em 😄

My sister just cant make a decision....and half of what she spends all this time contemplating she never wears or she doesn't even like.....

Ya know that lamp she spent 4 hours staring at and finally bought....we went to an antique shop that weekend and she bought another lamp and returned the original.....

And one time we went to Hobby Lobby she wanted to refresh her decor after Christmas....she spent 3 hours picking things out....she bought them....and on the way out she saw things in the Hobby Lobby Foyer on display she liked better, so she took her entire basket back and got a refund and then purchased the items she saw in the Foyer.....SMH 😄😆🤣
