I already took down all our inside decorations after we got back from the movies today, EXCEPT the tree. Willl take that down tomorrow. We leave the outdoor lights up till New Years day. (we put everything UP black Friday weekend). I will miss the tree being up, but I dont miss the other decorations I took down today and I wont miss the outdoor lights. Once Christmas is over Im over it! ..lol..
PS) Years ago I left everything up longer. Most of our neighbors leave their outdoor lights outside until the end of January.

At least until Jan 2nd, maybe until the 6th. I hate taking it down because it makes me sad to do so. Ours has only been up since Dec 7th or thereabouts.

our decorations look so beautiful and i hate taking them down.
they will stay up until about the second week of january.
they make me feel so good and warm......and always put a smile on my face, no matter what is going on around me. ![]()
we will also still have guests coming to visit.

When we were children, we were lucky if the tree lasted from Christmas Eve until New Years. It would become so dry every time you walked across the floor you could hear the needles falling on the boxes. Our trees never come down before New Years and are often up until Epiphany.
Now that all the hustle and bustle is over, we like to enjoy our tree and Christmas decorations.

Took everything down today. Early this year... but we have a lot going on in the next week.

I don't have a set day to take anything down. I enjoy looking at the trees so much that I'm no in rush to get them down.
All the clutter of gifts and other things are put away. I can't stand looking at that - makes the house feel messy. I took the boards off the dining room table today and got all the Christmas dishes and glassware put away.
Whenever it feels right to take the trees down, I will. Now that the shopping, cleaning, cooking, and wrapping are over, I can really enjoy the decorations.

The tree (artificial) goes up a couple of days before Christmas and is taken down on New Years Day. Not that I don't enjoy the tree, but I get a bit tired of the clutter....and yelling at two fur babies ![]()
Also, we've always had a strange tradition in our family (I know, everyone does). When I was a child, my parents would put up the tree after I went to bed on Christmas Eve, so when I woke up in the morning, I would think that Santa did everything (tree, gifts, etc). My mom was raised like this. So, as a carryover, I like to decorate as close as possible to Christmas. To me, it makes it more special to have the tree out for a shorter period of time (hope that doesn't sound too odd!!).
