He said something along the lines of being a guard is as difficult as being a prisoner...you make no money...you go bald...you become an alcoholic...you divorce...then you kill yourself.
I saw that on CNN, Tansy, and was shocked that these guards led such awful lives. And they carry no guns, which I find interesting. They bond with the prisoners. Unbelievable!
This leads me to thinking that we have absolutely no idea at all what goes on in prisons, and this one is supposed to be a "high security" prison for the worst of the worst.
As has been said before and I will repeat . . . we sure do live in an "upside down world."

What a mess. Again, I just hope no innocent people are hurt until this is resolved.
I agree, and I think it will go far beyond the one prison.

....because they left the country within a week of their escape. Also, why in the world would the commit any crime while they were on the run???? Obviously they are brilliant, patient, methodical men who had a goal. Killing someone...well, that would kinda get in the way of that goal....lol

The Adirondacks are filled with summer camps that are fully stocked with food.
Many people open their camps on Memorial Day and bring in lots of supplies at that time.
They can easily move from cabin to cabin (especially during the work week when many people are living in a city).

They just found DNA from Matt in another hunting camp in Malone. These guys are well fed & have dry clothes, not to mention guns & ammo. What a nightmare.

What would compel people to leave weapons and ammo in unattended camps??? Not for nothing, but they are too expensive to risk getting stolen - not to mention dangerous to leave around.
My friend who lives outside of Old Forge on a mountain top (year round) has a rifle in case of bears - but says he hasn't fired it in years! He keeps it locked up.

Depending on the state and those state's gun control laws, transporting a gun, even a sporting gun, can require permits/licenses and special handling that makes it easier to keep hunting rifles/shotguns in a hunting cabin. If that's where you're going to be using the guns, it's often easier/safer to keep them there. Most sane people keep them under lock and key, but locks are pretty easily picked and lock picking is a skill that's often shared among prisoners.
