@threecees   I'm with you on M&M's.  I like both kinds but peanut is my favorite.  I do the same thing as you and wait until Halloween is over and the candy is half price.

We haven't had a trick or treater in the whole 25 years we've lived in this house.  In the beginning I bought candy just in case.  After a number of years without anyone coming by I just stopped having candy available.  Now I just buy it for me to occasionally snack on. Hubby isn't much of a candy eater so I have to be careful with how much I have in the house.  I don't want to be tempted.

I hate to admit it but I've never liked Halloween.  Even as a kid ....  I know, Bah Humbug.  The most fun I've had was when the school had Halloween "parades", with goodies laid out and I went as a Princess at about 7 years old.  To me it was SO exciting and fun.  I loved it.

With my kids we went wth them as they trick or treated and our Church had a wonderful night.  I remember my little son won his cake of choice during the cake walk.  This was a really fun night.  Oh and he dressed up as the Cowardly Lion and was adorable!  LOL!  the cake was outstanding too!!

We moved from the country and the homes were 5 acres apart and we had no trick or treaters.  We moved to the city and there are no children trick or treating on our street, so I'd be surprised to see any this year.

Is it the HOA who decided this? I know some areas are trying to get away from the kids going door-to-door due to safety concerns and are trying to encourage more group things.....

I’m not sure what Halloween will look like. It might be busy, being it’s on a Sunday. I picked up Kit-Kat’s, M+M’s, Reese’s, Starburst, + Sweet-tarts (Skull+Bones)

People drive to our street to see the house decorations and kids from two weeks to sixteen trick or treat.  We usually have close to 100 visitors, although last year was a bit slow.

I buy those BIG bags that have hundreds of different candies and just scoop out a handful.

My house can look a bit scary, so it is also fun for the kids to come up!  DH dresses up, puts on spooky music, flashing lights, and sets up other assorted fun Halloween decor.

I gave out microwave popcorn for the last few years. I don't like giving out candy as it is so unhealthy. They can have fun popping there own popcorn.I know it is not  the most healthiest treat either but better than candy.

When our kids were young there was a dentist living a block over....he gave out little kits of toothbrushes and toothpaste.  Needless to say the kids weren't thrilled, though. 😁

I fill up party favor bags with assorted chocolate candy and Swedish Fish and pretzels. I love seeing all the costumes.
