Re: GROWN KIDS COMING HOME TO ROOST

@ID2 I agree we love our son and he will always see the welcome mat at our door.I would go to the end of the earth for him since the day he was born.

@Sweetbay magnolia  Thanks for vote of confidence. His job is only 1/2 hr. away and I can't wait to have them so close. He also wants to be closer to Mom (his grandmother)...90 minutes from here. The Girls will also be able to visit her often. We have no other family in the area. They're all in NY or FL.

@hoosieroriginal. Wow! That's sad to never feel welcomed back in your home again.

Re: GROWN KIDS COMING HOME TO ROOST

@hoosieroriginal my mom said that too but it didn't make me feel that I had loving support if I didn't succeed.I ended up in a bad reatationship that I tolerated because as young as I was I didn't know what else to do and I was ashamed to say anything.I told my son that home is his safety net.I think that gives you courage as a young person to venture out and make your way.

@dex. Both of our kids left home & married, but their keys never taken away or locks changed. No question, they're always welcome. This is their home. Home is more than 4 walls!!

@tends2dogs. Yep. Better person or more welcoming mother or unconditional love...take your pick! He's not a jobless lush lying on the couch drinking beer & watching TV. Why should he rent a furnished apartment for 3 months & be alone, when his parents are a short 1/2 hr. from his new office?

@Shanus - I stood on my own two feet because I knew I had to - I think parents make it too easy for their kids nowadays and that's what's wrong with them - they don't want to work, they don't want to contribute, they don't know how to put in a good day's work, they don't want to do anything but let their parents pay their way.  Just my feeling.  I see so many young people, and even 30 and 40 year olds who have depended on someone else because they've never had to be responsible.  I say, push them out the door and let them fly or fall, they'll figure it out.

@Shanus I think that you are a wonderful mom and that you are much appreciated for being there as backup whenever you can.I don't understand how anyone could not welcome their children anytime.

My kids would always be welcome in our home if they ever needed to come home.

@hoosieroriginal I agree that some need a push out the door but home should always be there in times of need.I think knowing that gives courage to make it on your own.
