@Sooner  i know what you mean. i always look at labels at Aldi and the just read "Distributed by Aldi Batavia IL.

i know the garlic we get in NE is from China. i ran myself silly one time wanting to make pesto and ALL the garlic at 4 different stores was from China.   they all have that nasty green sprout inside.

Just remember that "Distributed by. . ." is NOT the same as a "Made in the USA, Product of the USA or Produced in the USA."

"Distributed by" is the company hiding behind a curtain. I've read and heard various reasons for using that terminology. I try as hard as I can to buy food and pet food items that state that they are actually made in the USA.

It's getting harder and harder with the permission given for a company to be able to hide behind "Distributed by."

Whenever I can, I buy USDA organic, I don't even trust the QAI logo.  Am hoping I can trust the USDA....

I don't get freaked out if the organic produce is touching the conventional as far as contaminating it with pesticides.  Just knowing it was grown organically is enough for me.

But having a refrigerator and cabinets filled to the brim with organic food, it really upsets me that dinner plates and bakeware may contain lead.

I've made the switch to Fiesta, which really doesn't *match* my decor, but I'll make do.  I wish they'd come out with more baking pieces...

So true, I found out that initially with a lot of beauty products.  And I walked away from them....RAN actually.

Interesting point about frozen vegetables as I admit I haven't checked those labels. How true, it's going to take me even longer to get through store. Also try about dishes. I am refusing to use any of those giveaways (cups) metal and plastic as they are almost exclusively from China. Yuk. Why do we support all that junk and poison ourselves. I here I thought garlic was more Mediterranean product. Now I don't want to use so much.
