Believe it or not, but remnants of this hurricane are reaching all the way up to us in St. Louis. No strong winds are in the forecast - just a lot of rain. I so hope that you and your family will be okay with no damage to your home as well.

@gidgetgh     I'm in VA and we will get rain and wind with rain about 11 a m and wind starting about 5. It won't be as bad as further South. I have relatives in Chatsworth, North Ga. hope all are safe! 
 We are accustomed to hurricanes coming from the coast not from the gulf.

Been in the 20's around here past few days. sleeting rain, snowing right now in Amarillo, Tx

DH driving me to my regular shopping chores tomorrow won't let me drive the new van hahahahhah "we're going in the truck"  I've been home for 2 days , gotta get out.

It just started raining in my part of South Carolina.  Our weather reports are saying 30 to 40 mph winds and heavy rains are possible.

@gidgetgh   I understand your fear, having lived through bad storms--hurricanes and blizzards.  I'm praying for you and the others that might be affected by this that it will not hit any of you too hard.

@gidgetgh, you have been through so much lately.  I hope the bad weather does not impact your house....no flooding in the basement, the new roof holds, and other areas don't present any leaks or problems.  Hoping you all keep your power. 

It has to be a challenge to go through the major work you are having to do on the house not long after losing your husband.  You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
