if you have an electric car, it is best not to park it in your garage. Those batteries can and do explode.
Many people have an electric outlet for their car on the outside of their house and others plug in around town.
Many of the grocery stores in my area have charging stations in their parking lot.
I have never used one and hope I never have to. Those batteries are toxic to our environment, expensive and ruin our good earth.

EVs are far less likely to catch fire than gasoline powered cars. My sister's gasoline powered Ford caused a fire that burned the whole side of her home where the car was parked.
EVs were involved in approximately 25 fires for every 100,000 sold. But 1,530 gasoline-powered vehicles and 3,475 hybrid vehicles were involved in fires for every 100,000 sold, per Kelly Blue Book report.
The best part of EVs is improved air quality. EVs produce zero tailpipe emissions, significantly reducing the emission of harmful gasses like Carbon Monoxide (CO), Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), Hydrocarbons (HC), and Particulate Matter (PM) that contribute to outdoor air pollution.
The prevalence of EVs will greatly reduce asthma rates.
And EVs are inherently more energy-efficient than internal combustion engines. They convert a higher percentage of the energy from the grid into vehicle movement, reducing overall energy consumption and associated environmental impacts.
