I don't think it was a ridiculous remark. Just saying the cost of living is ridiculous. I don't want to live where they have earthquakes. What's wrong with that? Nothing juvenile about it?

I don't know what you mean about someone always wanting to take a swipe at Ca?

Someone had to feel that unless it's in an unpopulated area.

I wouldn't live in Ca if you paid me.

LOL, I feel the same way about places that get hurricanes and tornadoes every single year.

Communities get destroyed, people die  .....  and yet, they stay.

@Tinkrbl44 Not everyone can afford to just pick up and move, or can't leave relatives, friends, everything they know.  You can't just skip off and get a new job in a lot of areas, can't take your farm with you etc.  Sometimes life is hard and you have to play the hand you are given.

@NightowlzCA is a big state.  I live in northern CA and in my 64 years have never experienced any natural disaster other than mild after shocks from SF earthquakes.

@spumoni99

I'm not sure where in the State they have more earthquakes.

My SIL lives south of Fresno. She said they have never had one. I have been in OK for 53 yrs. Never saw a Tornado. DH has seen one.

We did have a flood here years ago. Nothing like what you see today.

@Nightowlz Lived in OK all my life, been in a tornado and seen three of them, high rise building fire, 2 car crashes, 2 bad horse accidents, and in a hurricane in New Orleans (not Katrina).  I'm still here.

That's a lot of disasters to deal with. I wouldn't want to be in a high rise on fire.

My brothers wedding reception was in some high rise in Dallas. We could see airplanes fly by out the window. Too high up for me.

I had a horse throw me off when I was a teenager. I was knocked unconscious. I didn't know how to ride a horse. The horse knew I was scared.

Re: Earthquake in California

I love California, been there many times, have family there. Every place has its problems, whether it be Tornadoes, Hurricanes, Flooding, Earthquakes,etc..

I live in the Midwest and we have our issues as well....

I saw on the news where the elephants gathered in a circle protecting the baby elephants until they felt there was no threat. It was something to see......
