In Julian near San Diego was 5.2 and didn't cause much damage, no injuries.

5.2 is a decent shaker.  Have friends and my brother live down that way.  Will see if they felt it.

Re: Earthquake in California

We feel some of the small ones we get in OK.

Someone had to feel that unless it's in an unpopulated area.

I wouldn't live in Ca if you paid me.

Re: Earthquake in California

Love California only visit there several times.  It's a beautiful state.  My son lived in Arizona for about 10 years and stayed with him often.

One day felt like my head was spinning and was loosing my balance  Went and laid on the bed.. it was strange.   Found out it was a quake in Cali.  You can feel the vibrations that far away.

Every state has their own  issues.  In the Chicago storms we always look to the positive side and say at least there are no snakes, lizards, alligators, giant bugs or bears.

Nightowlz, try TN and other states with our tornados.  Both are scary.  I was in the Solmar quake and would take a quake over a tornado but that is just me

I will not complain about the snow in the NE.  I will take it any day over the tornados and earthquakes.

Re: Earthquake in California

We, in New Mexico, probably have less chance of natural disaster than any other place.  No tornadoes (except small ones in Eastern plains), hurricanes, earth quakes, volcanoes.  I guess drought is the biggest problem and getting worse.

@giova  I stay where I am because it is home and it's where my family and friends are.  At my age I couldn't imagine moving away from my kids and grandchildren.  Lots of people do when they retire and there are times such as the winter when I would love to be a snowbird.

That said, the US is a beautiful country with lots of beautiful places to live.

Re: Earthquake in California

Yep, we felt it, it hit around 10:09a this morning, we live in the San Gabriel Valley northeast of downtown LA.  Seems quakes are felt and reported more on Monday's lately.  For a while quakes had been felt in the Malibu area on a weekly basis.
