What a tragedy!  The weather changes very quickly in that area.  My DD lives in MO and booked a rafting trip for her friends recently.  The day before the trip,  the weather report was bad so they were thinking about not going.  The rafting company would only refund them if the conditions were bad during the time of their rafting.  They went and luckily it was sunny the entire time.

I just don't know how tia will get through this loss, listening to her i am just   so taken with what she has said.

I used to live there and never road the duck boats. They were too touristy. Storms can move fast anywhere and always best to be out of the water. It was terrible to hear what happened.

The pain that wells up from this tragedy is too great to even speak about.   May all survivors be held up by a higher power so that they can go on.

How the wife/mother who lost her family will endure is concerning.

I pray that God gives her that "peace that passeth all understanding". I know she is a woman of faith; I can't imagine going through something like this without one's faith to give strength and comfort.

Because the captain of the boat also died, they are not sure if he was aware of a thunderstorm warning that had been issued. Why would he not have known this?  If you see the video, it shows several other, smaller boats out on the lake...also one other duck boat that was coming back to shore  Plenty of blame to go around. The owners have said they will pay for all medical bills and all funeral expenses... bet they hope that is all they have to pay, but am sure they will pay millions and rightfully so. Reports say the boat did not just sink...it capsized; with a solid roof on it, it would be impossible to escape. I hope this company is no longer allowed to operate. Appalling lack of concern for safety of its vehicles and its customers.

So tragic!  

There was a Duck boat accident a few years ago in Philadelphia.  It seems that there are many problems with these boats all over the country.    I would never ride in one.
