Sometimes I just have to back off from it a little bit and do some thinking. I think about stuff like when I last had the item in my hand, where is a place that I would be most likely to put it, and I just eliminate areas where I know I would not have put it, so that it narrows down the number of places in my mind (yeah, I think a lot!).
I'm pretty methodical about where I put things, actually for the express purpose of NOT putting them somewhere that would end up becoming a mystery. ha! Yeah, that backfires on me sometimes with things that I don't use frequently.
Then there's the husband, who works on the basic helter skelter theory of just dropping his things wherever and is always losing his phone, his keys, you name it. I fixed his key-losing problem, though.
But what might make me want to bonk him on the head even more than him constantly searching for his things is his reassurance to me when I'm looking for something - Well, he says, it's gotta be somewhere. Gee, no chit Sherlock. ha!
That's me too. Guess a bunch of us are related. I noticed since I retired my brain isn't as alert as it was when I used to have remember tons of stuff for the job. There was once I knew where everything was in this house. Now its getting sketchy. I think I need more challenging tasks to keep my brain active and to declutter this house.

Umm... I think we might be related.
Yikes! I think all 3 of us might be related. I'm fairly methodical and organized, but my DH wasn't, and was the proverbial "bull in the china shop." Got things done, got them done quickly, but left a trail behind him.
Bless his sweet heart.
Hahaha! 'Bull in a china shop' - We have the same husband too.
They're worth it all, though.

It is even more perplexing to find something. Leaves me all befuddled about when I bought it and how it got put away and why I don't remember any of it.
