I have read that Jack and David didn't have a very good relationship. David's star was rising when Jack's was falling.

Check the Daily Mail for the past month. They had one article that touted a significant research discovery that could lead to a cure. I only read the headline. Further, sometimes the general press doesn't accurately characterize research. Doctors who treat patients could put this article's information in context. Medical science is making great strides in many areas, and hopefully this will be one of them.

He is an alcoholic and the liquor has taken its toll on his body. It is very sad. He is now in ICU.

One of my dearest and oldest friends, my roommate from college, had/has both. She was diagnosed with breast cancer, went through radiation and chemo and at the same time she has short term dementia with the prospect of it becoming Alzheimer's in the future. It's a frightening prospect that we all fear, but have no power to stop, really. My friend has no dementia in her family that she knows of. I have had several friends who have had brain tumors as well. They didn't survive. I keep wondering if Seattle has a higher percentage of brain cancer than other places, or if our state of the art medicine is better at determining it sooner. I do know that Seattle has a very high incident rate of Multiple Sclerosis cases. Some feel that it's the lack of Vitamin D in a climate that gets less sunshine. Who knows. We're all in jeopardy of the roulette wheel and our genetics.

I had read that multiple sclerosis is more common north of 35 degrees latitude, and some speculate the sun has something to do with it but it's never been proven if there is cause and affect or just a statistical anomoly.
