David Cassidy (Partridge Family) in coma; multiple organ failure

David Cassidy is in a coma and is suffering from multiple organ failure, according to reports.

The 67-year-old Partridge Family star and singer was rushed to hospital in Florida three days ago.

A source told TMZ that his condition was 'grim'. He is believed to have been in failing health for the last two months.

Doctors believe he could die if he doesn't get an urgent kidney or liver transplant.

His family have been told to prepare for the worst. The gossip site says they have gathered at his bedside.

Cassidy is widely known for his starring role as Keith Partridge on the 1970s series The Partridge Family.

In February, the actor revealed he was battling dementia. His mother and his grandfather also had the condition.

This is so sad. I was such a fan of his when The Partridge Family was on. I never missed it and bought their albums.

The AC/DC Malcolm young just died at 64. He had dementia.

What a shame. I think it’s very hard when a person has super huge success early on because life after is bound to disappoint... He could never recapture success after his teen years.

I always thought he had talent, good looks and charm- I Had a huge crush on him when I was little, who didn’t at that time??
