Daily Positive Thread for New Year's Day! Happy New Year Everyone!

Hello my friends! It's been a nice, but peaceful day here for me - my husband had a good time at work with a fish fry there for lunch and some beer after work with co-workers and boss. Here's a refection from Jesus Calling - me typing, Linus dictating: Janurary 1 Come to Me with a teachable spirit, eager to be changed. A close walk with Me is a life of continual newness. Do not cling to new ways as you step into a New Year. Instead, seek My Face with an open mind, knowing that your journey with Me involves being transformed by the renewing of your mind. As you focus your thoughts on Me, be aware that I am fully attentive to you. I see you with a steady eye because My attention span is infinite. I know and understand you completely; My thoughts embrace you in everlasting love. I also know the plans I have for you: plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Give yourself fully to this adventure of increasing attentiveness to My presence. Romans 12:2 Jeremiah 29:11

Hello To All! The Best of '2015!

A teachable spirit - I have been having that message put across to me for a short while. Throughout life, I believe that we never ever stop learning. In learning, we learn about ourselves - Our strengths and weaknesses. Others may come into our life to teach us or to learn beside us. It's a never ending process that will lead us to our better good and higher self.

Thankful for another year of life, I wish you all peace and to know you are loved.

Happy New Year!!!

I read "Jesus Calling" every single day. It's an incredible way to connect with our Lord. I loved the post about God holding our tears.Thank you for posting that! Turning to the Holy Spirit daily, was my best accomplishment in 2014. My anxiety is nearly vanished, and I have more calm and peace most of the time than I could have ever imagined possible.

It's always like a clean slate to me, to see the new year come in. I no longer make resolutions, but do have things I want to accomplish this year. Renew healthier habits, and grow my prayer life as best I can. Today will be a pretty normal day here. We had a nice supper at home last night to celebrate the new year after I returned from mass. It was a beautiful service, and a great way to wrap up the year.

On another thread, someone asked for one word we would focus on for this year, mine was health. This is an area that has been very challenging the past year, but since things seem to be turning around the past few months, I have to do all I can to ensure these positive changes continue.

I wish everyone much success in any changes you'd like to make this year. Hope all who post or read here have their best year yet! Hugs, pinky

Re: Daily Positive Thread for New Year's Day! Happy New Year Everyone!

Thank you for your posts! Nadine, who lives in Finland, but helps me with my list, and still continues to take over it while my computer is in the shop, just emailed me that Jesus Calling is on line - and maybe I won't have to type it out! When I get my computer back, I'm going to offer this one to all on my list for anyone there who'd like to receive it daily, they can sign up for it and Ill put them on the new category. Every once in a while I like to do something new with my list. It's 12 years old with about 200 members all over the world. I say that because I have some members in South Africa, one or two in Germany, some in Canada, once I had one in the Indian Oceans or someplace like that, way far out, and once counted, I counted about 13 different countries, now I lost track of it. Any, I'm so grateful for all of this - my list and all who are in it, far and close. I think Jesus Calling will have a lot of sign-ups. Do you still want me to start our thread with the Daily Inspirations as I've had in the years I've been doing this, or different? This is when I get my computer back.

Thanks, Bobbiesue! Julie - how long will your DH be gone? Mine likes to be generous too, when we have the money. When we were down and out during the year, our friends gave us some good stuff we could use. We are so blessed with that couple! I will continue to post Jesus Calling. Seems to me that God wants it here - so it continues.
