these are the times when a smartphone comes in handy, along with a twitter account.
take a pic, tweet the pic and comments to @crackerbarrel and set up some hashtags like #poorservice #undercookedseafood #managernothelpful. you will be surprised sometimes at how fast you can get a response or phone call.

You couldn't pay me to eat at any CB now. I had a terrible bout of food poisoning on the road once, and the food I had a few years ago was awful to begin with.
We eat breakfast at a drive through about every week or two--sometimes on the way to church or on the way to a closeby city for errands. The lines at those have slowed to a crawl.
I think the manager is right about many of today's kids. You simply can't challenge them, you can't scold them, and you can't make them do anything. We are about ready to give up entirely on it. We just wait and wait and wait--unlike a couple of years ago when you could zip through and be on your way.
Delivered food? NO WAY would I eat that. No telling where it's been or done on the way to my house!

We go out once a week to a nice place, then, maybe fast food on 1 day
You don't know what they're doing back there and especially the boys.
nose running acting like people they have seen in movies. LOL It's a cr*p
shoot. No kidding.
DH got sick as a dog yrs ago from eating at Red ********** he even missed a days work and he never missed a day.
I went thru Burger **** and got ahold of something that came and went few hrs later.
I get tired of cooking and planning and cleaning up after 2 meals. Now, that he's retired, just more work for me, so, why, I want a day out.
I hear ya, @SharkE. I get tired of it too, and tired of leftovers. When our kids were here, it was great to have leftovers, cause the food would be gone in 2 days. Now, if I cook much, we will have it a week.
I need to learn to cook for two people. And I'm also going to start making more chicken salad. Thank God my dh is not picky.
yeah, girl in summer it's tuna salad and chips besides chicken salad.
I don't like what they call chicken salad down here in Tx. anyway.
KFC has coupons in today's paper I see. LOL

You need to go on Yelp and write a scathing review about this! No one will ever know if you don't. It will get the manager's attention and make changes!

@happycat SO sorry that happened to you. I don't go to CB often at all, but once there was an issue on "Girl's Night" when a friend had a coupon. The manager handled it quickly and efficiently.
If I had been in your situation, I would have reported the mgr to corporate as soon as I got home. I am also a major reviewer on Trip Adviser, and they would have received a scathing review.

@happycat - I agree that the manager didn't handle things right. Blaming her employees is NOT the thing to do. She should have apologized profusely, comped both of your dinners and paid for a future visit, even if you might not be back.
DH and I have always had Cracker Barrel around us - until we moved here. We were so excited when one opened about 45 minutes away. We go once in a while for breakfast or dinner. The manager is great. He walks around, making sure everyone is happy. I've also had their fried shrimp. I don't eat much fried food, but I do like theirs once in a while. And I'm REALLY fussy about seafood, especially having grown up on the ocean and bay and having a dad who caught everything!
Here the local paper publishes ALL of the food inspections for the restaurants, high end to fast food, with specifics. Some of our favorite high end places have received "dings." I've had relatives who worked in the fast food industry and mid-level chain restaurants. I heard some stories. I tend to go where I trust them. My favorite fast food place is Chick-Fil-A. The manager treats his employees well, and the "cow" goes all over to visit children in the hospital and at schools and gives them free goodies. Again the manager walks around, making sure everyone is happy.
This is just a copy of one high end's restaurant inspection that is printed in the local paper!

There are very few eateries my husband and I frequent anymore simply because the food isn't good and it's expensive. I guess if you want to go out and eat you can't think about what's happening behind closed doors. There is one very nice restaurant in town where all the meats are raised locally and all the sides and desserts are homemade. It's very expensive, we only go there a few times a year.

I know two people who USED to work there as side jobs for just extra money. Both told me CB doesn't hire a lot of quality workers and they said it was constant turnover too. They said it all depends on the location and management wasn't the best either. I used to eat at them but now it's once in a blue moon...too crowded and lukewarm food. Ugh. I do like their store though.

I'm very careful about food. But, sometimes food can taste and smell fine and be bad.
Five people went to lunch at an Italian restaurant. Three of us ordered spaghetti with sauce.
About three days later I suddenly became sick. Two others did also. After about 6 hours and getting weak from throwing up, etc. My husband took me to the ER. After being given medicine and Fluids a few days later I was better.
When I called my friends, one had gone to the hospital and one had a Dr go to her house. The other two didn't have the sauce.
The health department found that the restaurant was thinning the tomato sauce with chicken broth that was left out. We had Salmonella poisoning, other people were sick also! I never want it again!

That had to be a disappointing night out. We ate at a jam packed family owned supper club and everything was fantastic. Glad I made a reservation. Noticed the waitresses and bartenders have been there for the twenty years DH and have eaten there. It all comes down to the staff.
