I don't see why some say it isn't worth it unless they don't enjoy cooking. I cook regular meals for us, and I usually have leftovers for another one or two meals during the week for DH, because I don't want to cook every single night. I prepare marinara sauce and freeze it, also meatballs in marinara sauce, mine are the best ever
, and soups. There are days when I am in the mood to cook up a storm so do, and freeze, and then I have many nights free except for cooking the pasta, DH loves pasta, I don't eat it anymore much, no big deal, or thawing and heating.
I also make a triple batch of mini loaves of pumpkin raisin nut breads and freeze them for when I want something a little sweet, and these actually have nutrition in them, the problem is, I can't stay away from them. ![]()
We hardly go out to eat, but do get take out sushi once in a while from an outstanding sushi restaurant.

If you are willing to share it, I'll give it one more try.

Cooking for one person ,is tough you eat leftovers for days in a roll.

I'm on a diet. I'd kill for beef stew - tasteless or not! That's one of those things my mother used to make when I was little and I would complain about, but I would give my right arm for her stew today.

Why would you give up cooking just because one single stew was a disappointment?

Because as I mentioned in earlier posts this isn't the first time. It seems to have become a recurring event in the last couple of years.
This was the final straw not the first one.

Maybe you used low salt beef broth, that can make a huge difference.

No way I'd give up cooking based on one bad dish. Sounds like the meat or technique wasn't the best for the results you were looking for.......

Did you add any beef base to it? Sometimes even when I use chicken stock or beef stock (or broth) for soups or stews I also need to use either of these to add extra beef or chicken flavor. Sometimes I don't need it but sometimes I do. I buy my chicken and beef not from the grocery store but local farms that raise these without antibiotics and other disgusting things but some chicken and beef is just more flavorful than others for whatever reason.
I use something called beef soup base and chicken soup base. I use the brand "Better than Bouillon" and it comes in chicken or beef flavor. It comes in jar and it a paste consistency and I like it better than the little cubes. I add a little so it isn't too much.
