If property taxes are already high, and the lottery money (in those lottery states) isn't reaching the school(s) itself, what else can be done?
'Let's see'............Maybe an added $1 or $5 (or more) donation on our state income tax return?
Or, maybe a required $1 tax per person via state income tax returns?
Or, maybe a required $1 on our Federal Income Tax returns?
Or, maybe an optional donation on our Fed. Income Tax returns ($1, or $5, or whatever we would like.) ?
There just has to be a solution, as long as the $ will go directly to the schools, not the administrators.
If anyone here has suggestions, please post.
@ROMARY Not all states have income tax.
I am totally against citizens being forced to donate $ for any cause. The purpose of being taxed is to support programs across the board. We may not like how all the taxes are spent but all of us get benefits.
Voluntary, fine.
Not everyone owns property, either. Why should home owners be hit with more property taxes than the person who pays only through sales tax or income tax, if the state has either one??
I think we are getting off topic here; body cams can be an issue to be voted by the people.
We just had a superintendent accused of inappropriate behavior who ended up resigning because the accusation caused physical and mental harm to him. Turns out the accusation was false.
So here we are trying to decide if body cams are a good thing. For him, it would have saved him a lot of headache.

Is there a specific purpose? If so, since our only kids have fur, which side supposedly benefits?

Sorry if I was off topic..........
I guess I'm for more security, possibly body cams.
I was just wondering how we can solve the safety problems and where we can get the funds.
If property taxes are already very high, and nothing much has improved, I guess maybe a state or fed. income tax, preferably donated, might be an answer. Only if the $$$ go directly to the schools.
Oh, well.............just a thought.
Wishing all safety, no matter what, where, how, etc.
