@Bri21

that hairstyle is so nice......but way too much maintenance for me.

i am now a "no bang" kind of gal.......not sure if i will ever go back. in the hot weather i would be pulling them back constantly.

I let mine grow out, they're long, but off to the side so I can still consider them bangs.

I clip them back with a mini clip when they're shorter or if they get in my way (gardening, etc).

That pic is adorable.  I just did it and it works except my neck is cold now.

Re: Bangs or no bangs?

[ Edited ]

I like my bangs.  I have a round face but the bangs (not long and not swept to the side) look nice, probably because my hair is very fine and they add an appearance of body and form.  For form in the back, I use a hot comb and even rollers.

ETA:  Back in the late 19th century when bangs entered into fashion in the US, a bang was called a "lunatic fringe."

Long time bang wearer here.  I just like them with my face.  I have grown them out several times and sooner or later always go back.  Right now they are the longish side and pushed over a bit but I am pretty sure I will not be giving them up any time soon.  They are flattering for my face.

I love the look of long straight bangs unfortunately I have curly hair and could never do that.  I am jealous of those who can.

If you want to talk about bangs, why mention a host and say she looks bad?  It's mean.

@glb613 - I'm not trying to be mean - I just think it's unflattering on her face shape.  She's a very pretty woman - but I really liked her hair without bangs.

If that's so, you should have not posted the name of the host and your opinion about how she looks.  What you posted is mean.

It's not mean .... I think she was being objective.    You can see an entertainer on TV with a terrible look and mention you hate it to your friends ..... how is that mean?

IMO .....   a lot of women just can't pull off certain looks ... based on face shape, hair texture ... even lifestyle.   If you have a serious job in the business world, it's probably not a good idea to have a bed head hairstyle with bangs.  Go for something more professional.    JMO

I thought it depends on the shape of your face.

LOL - went to somebody new the last time. And when I mentioned bangs, she asked how far down to my eyebrows I wanted them. Said I wanted the ones that were to the side and was told that was called "face framing" not "bangs"

Never got either of them.

Re: - Re: Bangs or no bangs?

The main reason I wear bangs is because I can count the hairs in my eyebrows.  I've bought bazillions of products and do a pretty good job enhancing those few hairs, but I'm self conscious.  I thought about tattooing them on but I've had skin cancer near one eyebrows and the my derm said there is a good chance the ink would not take evenly.

I had no idea how dated I was; I have both bangs and a side part!

Re: - Re: Bangs or no bangs?

I have never had bangs since my mother stopped taking me for my pixie.  I see a lot of styles that look nice and I wouldn't mind trying, but I cannot stand hair anywhere near my eyes.
