Odd, in a way. Not sure if it boils down to tribalism which I doubt because the citizenry isn't tight, even less so than most cities, or "If it isn't about me, it's wrong". Or is it a feeling of being pushed aside by a new resident? Did she take something away from them?
Why is it that people resist someone loving their city and saying how great it is?
This is about two shop owners not all New Yorkers. Frankly, I doubt most New Yorkers have even heard about this and the ones that have probable couldn't care less. I've lived in many cities in this country and New York is as friendly as any of them and I find the people to be a lot more tolerant than some other places.
Thanks, adelle. You are correct that TS's title is not news here and that most New Yorkers couldn't care less. New Yorkers are very friendly, helpful, and tolerant. The OP and the OP are just deflecting from the original story here.

It made big news there...Wendy Williams can't shut her mouth over it and all the other venues are talking about it too. Taylor bought a multi million dollar penthouse and is seen everywhere in her beautiful designer clothes. Good for her!

I guess Wendy Williams is "big news." She is "Us" magazine on tv. She needs something to gossip about, lol. I saw the show where she talked about it and she was not really upset. It made for a gossipy topic of conversation for her show, that's all.

You know I'm beginning to think that you're just jealous of Taylor. She's got that gorgeous multi million dollar penthouse and is seen everywhere on the streets of NYC in her designer clothes. Pretty good for a new resident!!!!!

It did not make "big news" in NYC. I read and watch NYC news daily and haven't seen one mention of this. None of my friends there have talked about it. I've never seen Wendy Williams show so I don't know what she said but she certainly doesn't represent all New Yorkers. Some people just have a stereotypical view of NYC just as many people have stereotypical views about other parts of the country and the world. I'm sure Taylor has made a lot of money and will continue to do so and good luck to her.

Yet, the entire nation if not the world has gotten wind of this. Uh huh.

Yes, she is puglit and has the money and cachet to attract a lot of tourist dollars to the city.

So what is your point? Why so huffy about it? So it's bigger news and apparently more important to the rest of the country than it is in NY. Is this a point worth arguing?
