I'll be staying home. I would never leave my 90 lb (German Shepherd/Lab) fur baby home alone on NYE. He's restless with fireworks, but when I'm with him, he's fairly confident we've got things under control.
I'm the one who's not so confident. We have an unbelievable amount of fireworks in my area. We're also very dry right now which could easily spark a fire. It'll be a very late night for me and dawg.
Wishing everyone a Happy NY in advance. And, if you're venturing out, stay safe.

DH and I never went anywhere except a house party now and then in the 50 years we were married. It's too crowded, noisy and everyone who never drinks otherwise is out on the roads.
I haven't seen the ball drop in decades.
Anyone else staying tucked in for the night?
Whatever you are doing, have a great night and be safe. Here's to a wonderful 2020 for everyone!

I am staying in, I will have my 4 grandchildren (ages 9-4) from like 3PM New Year's Eve day and overnight. One set of parents going to a wedding the other hosting a NYE party. Lots of things for them to do here and just spending the night with your cousins at your Meema's house is exciting enough, One note, we are NOT staying up til midnight!

@BlueFinch I had a 108 lb Alaskan Malamute, she hated fireworks! She had been shot with a shotgun before she was ours. The vet saw the buckshot when taking other x -rays was how we found out.
I always stayed home with her. I have two Jack Russells and will be with them.
Publix called today to see if I could get my second shingles shot tomorrow. I told them I'll be there in the morning, not going to party anyhow. I guess they have a hard time getting people to get shots on New Years Eve.
Rather have the shot than shingles and will pick up food while I'm there.
Have a nice & hopefully quiet New Year!

Our New Year's evenings of partying are long gone! We'll be staying home where it's warm, cozy and safe. I plan to grill a steak for us along with a baked potato - that's all we need. Some wine for me and I'll probably fall asleep before the crystal ball even thinks about dropping! Happy New Year to all!

Yes, the Hubby and I like staying in. We celebrate the New Year on New Years day. We always eat Menudo with all the fixings for breakfast. While watching The Rose Parade from back home.

we are staying in. We have stayed in since we had babies, more than 30 years ago!
when the kids were home we made pizza
since we are empty nesters, we order from Red Lobster. Especially when I have to work, like this year.
I usually fall asleep before midnight. DH is definitely asleep before midnight LOL usually before 8

DH & I are staying in,like we've done many times before. We will cuddle up in front of our fireplace & tv, in our pj's. Around 10pm I will put out hot & cold hors d'oeuvres.DH will pop a bottle of champagne 🥂. We will watch the festivities from Times Square & reflect on the 41 New Years Eves that we've spent together.
Feeling blessed!!

I will be staying home with my dog and cat. I bought a few snacks to have and will probably watch some of the celebrations on TV. My dog is 13 and hard of hearing so the fireworks don't bother her anymore. I was asked to babysit but declined because I don't want to be on the roads at 2am when they get home. Happy New Year!

I will be staying in to get ready to open doors, eat grapes, bang pots and let the first footer in. I will probably watch some TV as well.

I'm staying in after 2 pm. People start drinking around noon and you can see the effects on the roads by mid-afternoon. Then I will batten down the hatches for the celebratory gunfire and fireworks (both illegal) that will go on until early morning. Our police force is always spread too thin on July 4 and New Year's Eve with hundreds of calls. Drunks, guns, fireworks -- yeah, good times *NOT*. I plan to sequester myself in the middle of the house and watch classic movies on MoviesTV network.
