Up until about two years ago we used Prime only for free shipping and convenience. However, I particularly value Prime Video. TV is our main entertainment and network TV programs getting to be awful. Streaming services (Prime, Netflix, etc) provide much better quality programming.

I also have a love hate relationship with Amazon.  I use them because I'm in the boondocks and local stores just don't carry certain items.  I just placed an order this morning that cannot be shipped to my PO box, so I will have three separate Fed Ex deliveries wasting gas to get out here in the woods.  Guilt, guilt, guilt.

thanks for the tip on what to do if something arrives later than the original scheduled delivery. i will definitely be calling or emailing them next time.

if we did not get the student rate i am not sure if we would keep prime or not.

I love Prime.  If you need something, you know you will get it and when.  Plus movies, books and music are included.  Its more than just 2 day shipping.

We've had Prime since they first offered it.  The cost (on some things) and wonderful and of course delivery can't be beat (but non prime delivery is very good too)   I do like the perks they throw in with TV shows.

I had something happen the other day and I'm not sure it had anything to having Prime.  But ordered from Prime.  I ordered some weights on Amazon.  Amazon responded it had been shipped saying I would get it the next day.  I discovered that my husband (without my knowledge) ordered the same thing for me on his credit card.  Since it shipped I assumed Amazon would not be able to do anything about it.  Wrong!  I clicked on cancel & Amazon did cancel.  They ordered the item to be sent back to Amazon while in transit.  I never got it and credit card was reimbursed the next day.  Is that service or what????

Re: Amazon Prime

[ Edited ]

@QVCkitty1    I agree.  I purchased a fan yesterday that QVC was selling in the morning show.  I went to Amazon... found the SAME FAN..... and  I bought it with Amazon prime and got same day delivery for free... it came last night!  and the overall cost of the fan was several dollars less than QVC was selling it for.

Same fan!  If I had bought it from Qvc I would have had to pay shipping and wait over a week or more for delivery.... and pay more for the same fan on top of that.

This is where QVC loses out and loses customers to Amazon and other companies. They just can not compete.

and do not forget  FREE RETURNS!!!!!

Well that's a coincidence, my purchase was a fan also. It was the green Vornado.

I am an online shopper. Amazon Prime is the way to go for me.  I save lots of shipping costs.  I think it is a good deal all around.  At first, what seems like long ago, shipping was free if you spent over $25. l don't think that is in place anymore.

I’d never get rid of my Amazon Prime.  I probably save at least half of the yearly fee in gas that I don’t use.  Plus, since my thyroidectomy, last year, I still don’t feel that great.  It’s easier to just stay in the comfort of my own home and get what I need....especially now that the hot weather is here.

I sew and quilt.  Last week, I needed some specialty needles, so I just ordered them and they were here in two days.  This evening I ordered bias tape. It’s normally $5+ retail. I ordered 6 packs at $1.85 each!  White was the only color available at that price, but it will work fine for me.

So much better than trudging around from store to store, and still not finding what I want.  I reserve my energy for grocery shopping. 😁
